Twin and Triple TWS Earbuds: What’s in One Case?

An open Triple TWS set on a desk, with three differently shaped pairs of earbuds in one charging case

In Yinshidon’s earbud range, Twin TWS earbuds come as two pairs in one charging case, while a Triple TWS set contains three pairs in one case. The Q75 and Q136, for example, contain four and six individual earbuds respectively. The pairs within a set can also have different shapes.

How those pairs are combined, and whether they can all play audio from the same phone, are two separate questions.

How Do You Count One, Two or Three Pairs?

A pair of earbuds normally includes one left earbud and one right earbud. Although true wireless earbuds are two separate pieces, the left and right earbuds together still count as one pair.

So two pairs means two complete left-and-right sets. One left earbud and one right earbud do not make two pairs. In product descriptions, 2 pairs in 1 charging case means a case with two pairs, and 3 pairs in 1 charging case means a case with three pairs.

Here, Twin and Triple refer to the names of these Yinshidon sets. If another product uses a similar name, check the stated number of pairs. The name alone does not tell you how many earbuds are in the case.

One Set Can Contain Different Earbud Styles

A case with multiple pairs can combine different shapes. In the Q75 Twin TWS set shown below, the upper pair has no soft ear tips, while the lower pair has soft tips. The four earbuds form two different styles.

The combination in the Q136 Triple TWS set is easier to see with the case open. There is a pair with curved, loop-shaped sections at the sides, a long-stem pair in the middle, and a compact pair at the front. Each of the three pairs has its own positions within the same charging case.

This brings several earbud shapes together in one set, giving you different styles to choose from. Which pair fits better, how it feels during longer wear, and how the pairs differ in sound require actual wear and listening tests. Those qualities cannot be judged from the shapes in a photo.

Can Several People Listen to the Same Phone at Once?

The number of pairs in a charging case does not tell you how many pairs a phone can play audio to simultaneously. A shared case describes the storage and charging arrangement. For several people to listen to the same song at once, the phone or other audio source and the earbuds need the appropriate audio-sharing features.

Multipoint connectivity is easy to confuse with this. It generally means one pair of earbuds connects to two audio sources, such as a phone and a computer, so you can switch between them. For example, you can listen to music on a computer and then switch to your phone without changing earbuds. Audio sharing works in the opposite direction: one source sends audio to multiple pairs of earbuds at the same time.

Multipoint lets one pair switch between a phone and a computer; audio sharing sends one source to two pairs at the same time
Connection concepts; support depends on the specific devices and features.

Auracast broadcast audio is one way to send audio from a single source to multiple receiving devices. As the Bluetooth SIG explains, both the transmitting and receiving devices need the relevant support. Having Bluetooth alone is not enough.

Whether the Q75 or Q136 can share audio from the same source depends on each model’s connection features and phone compatibility information.
